Hi !!!

HAPPY EASTER!!!

Here you go ...ENJOY!!!

Mama's Glazed Baked Ham

with Coca-Cola Ham Glaze

1 Fully-cooked Ham Half (or wimp-out and use a canned ham)

Whole Cloves

Pineapple Rings and Maraschino Cherries

Ingredients for Glaze

About 6 ounces of Coke or other Cola

1 Cup of packed Brown Sugar

Pineapple or Orange Juice (to taste)

Ground Cinnamon (to taste)

Ground Cloves (to taste)

1 Tablespoon of Butter or Margarine (optional)

Raisins (optional)

Mix the ingredients for the glaze in a small saucepan and heat over Medium heat until sugar is melted and ingredients are blended. The glaze should be syrupy-thick. If too thin or runny, add more brown sugar. Set aside for the moment.

Score the top of the ham diagonally and stud with whole cloves. Garnish with pineapple rings (hold them in place with toothpicks while baking). Place a cherry in the middle of each ring.

Pour ham glaze over the top. Bake in a 350-degree Fahrenheit oven until heated throughout (about 1 hour for a 3-pound ham).

While baking, baste the ham occasionally with the glaze, which will mix nicely with the pan drippings. When ham is finished, pour off juices into a server and let guests ladle it on as desired.

----------AND THIS RECIPE, IF YOU LIKE CHERRY COKE...

Take one whole ham, scored, then add whole cloves in the scored areas.

Use 1 cup dark brown sugar patted on to ham. Reserve about 2/3 cup.

Add 1 1/2 liter of Cherry Coke®. Pour some over the brown sugar slowly. When some

of the sugar washes off, add the rest of the brown sugar.

Bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes.

Let cool, remove cloves and slice when cool.

Take the liquid that is left and freeze until the next time you cook a ham.

The ham will be very moist and delicious.Ham recipe using Coca Cola or something similar?
I used to use the Coke-glazed ham, until I discovered THIS recipe! It's the best I've ever made, and I forgot all about the cola version!

Best Glazed Ham

1 (10 lb.) cured ham, bone-in

Glaze:

1½ c. brown sugar

3 tsp. spicy brown honey mustard

1 (8 oz.) can crushed pineapple with juice

4 dashes Tabasco

1 tsp. soy sauce

1 Tbsp. fresh sliced ginger

hand full of cloves

Soak ham in water for 2-3 hours changing water every 45 minutes. Pat dry. Place ham cut side down in large roasting pan. Score ham in X’s w/ sharp knife, and place whole cloves in scored corners. Place all glaze ingredients into blender or food processor. Blend until smooth. Gently and slowly pour glaze over ham, making sure it is totally glazed. Bake 4 hours at 300ºF.. Tent with foil if browning too quickly during last hour.
1 (6 to 7 lb) ham (bone-in)

30 to 32 whole cloves

1 (16 oz.) pkg dark brown sugar

1 c. spicy brown mustard

1 c. Coca-Cola soft drink

1/2 bourbon or apple juice

1. Remove skin from ham, and trim fat to 1/4 inch thickness. Make 1/4 inch deep cuts in a diamond patter, and insert cloves at 1 inch intervals. Place ham in aluminum foil-lined 13-9 inch pan.

2. Stir together brown sugar and next 3 ingredients until smooth. Pour mixture evenly over ham.

3. Bake at 350 degrees on lower oven rack 2 hours and 30 minutes. Remove ham, and let stand 15 minutes before serving. Makes 12 to 14 servings.
